Hi. Hello. I'm alive 🙋🏼
The 'getting back to my routine' plan hasn't quite gone to plan & I've not really had a routine or any sort of structure to my workouts...which I've learnt doesn't work for me. My workouts have been short & the weights have been lighter because I've been under the weather 👎🏻 And I've had to skip days because I'm all about listening to your body 👌🏼 Although that being said, it's pissed me off not being in the gym as much as usual 😑

So here I am. Much softer than I was a month ago and definitely not as fit. 
And thanks to being stressed (cortisol levels increased), I've definitely gained a bit too much fat for my liking. (And I've had more treats than I'm used to because...YOLO 😜)

Anyway, today marks day 1 (again) of getting back to my routine. Focusing on my overall fitness & health ✌🏼

Chicken Breast with Tomatoes and Garlic By ifoodreal

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Chicken Breasts:
4 large (2-3 lbs) chicken breasts, boneless & skinless
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
Ground black pepper, to taste
Avocado oil
Sauce:
4 large (3 lbs) ripe tomatoes, cut into half moon shapes
5 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
Ground black pepper, to taste
Basil or parsley, finely chopped
Directions

Cut chicken breasts into tenders - thin long strips. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp salt and pepper to taste. Gently toss around the cutting board to coat evenly. Slice tomatoes and chop garlic.
Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet (I used 13”) on medium heat and swirl a bit of oil to coat. Add half of chicken and cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown on each side. Transfer to a dish and cook remaining chicken this way, transferring to same dish.

Reduce heat to low, add garlic and 1/2 tsp oregano, cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently (add a bit of oil if there was none left from cooking chicken but there should be). Layer tomatoes on top, sprinkle with 1/4 tsp salt and pepper to taste, turn up the heat to medium, and cook tomatoes for about 5 minutes, gently tossing them around (if tomatoes aren’t juicy enough, add a splash of water). When tomatoes have released their juices and turned into fresh tomato sauce, turn off the heat and return chicken back to skillet. Gently tuck it in between tomatoes, sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley, and serve warm with whole wheat spaghetti, quinoa, brown rice or buckwheat.
Storage Instructions: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

🔥TALES OF THE UPPER BACK & A LOT MORE

💥So this exercise discovery is all dedicated to my friend & client @officialdanielvarani who is having a hell of a time linking is brain to anything that's going in his body 😆so actually in our session yesterday there were a few moments of him acting like a break dancer has he tried to clink his body into the right position for certain moves.

👱🏻‍♀️He has a slightly rounded shoulders situ going on & little or no upper back strength going so we need to work on  getting the  chest opened & get the upper back strengthened.

👰🏼I had him do this drill so that he could 1️⃣ concentrate on pulling the shoulders back & really focus on engaging & maintaining muscle tension in his upper back as he held the band taut.2️⃣ In order to stay stable & square throughout you have to create an immense amount of tension through your full body especially your tummy3️⃣ He also struggles with ass out posture so this helped him to again establish what needs to happen with his pelvis to keep the back neutral & he how it feels to squeeze his toosh hard.

🙋🏼I actually used in between deadlift sets this week just to see how it worked & all I'm going to say is dont underestimate the power of a band & a tiny toe raise 👱🏻‍♀️

💪🏻The main cues would be keep those coat hangers ( shoulders) down ✔️ keep the band locked by your side ✔️squeeze your ass ✔️find a focal point

After feeling quite deflated about my injury prone year to date, it was great to see that I have still had plenty of gains!

Two rubbish bags filled with clothes that no longer fit me because either my thighs, booty, back or shoulders are now #toobig. 
Most people would freak out that their clothes no longer fit, but for me it's something to celebrate 🙌🎉🎊 #woohoo #keepthemcoming 💪
