Yay!!! Today is #flexfriday in my online virtual bootcamp, and because I'm focused on teaching + challenging my girls to love themselves as much as we're working on goals, I did a pop-up challenge! 
I challenged them to post a flex Friday post on their social media, and share one reason why they're loving their arms through their health + wellness journey! As a coach, I'm simply leading them by example. I'm in the trenches with them, so I accept the challenge too πŸ’ͺ🏼
I am wrapping up my second week of weight lifting of "building" muscle. I'm so thankful for how my journey the past 2 years has transformed my arms. I have always had long, skinny, stringy arms as a runner. I could NEVER do a push up... and I remember one time my dad saying I should add weights into my training to put on some muscle. Well my All Access Pass has helped me do JUST THAT. Two days ago my workout called for 4 sets of push ups-- I did them all. Today when I flex, I see definition. And this girl who once started with 5 lbs now uses 22 lb dumb bells. Not only can I do push ups normal, but I can also do my own pull ups unassisted. I love celebrating how far I've come! Putting muscle on my arms has been a slow, steady climb uphill... but it feels amazing to see what I can now do! 
I have had several girls tell me they love lifting so they couldn't do what I do. I always laugh because I talk ERRRYDAY about my weight lifting program!!! So to clarify... I workout AT a gym, and I only WEIGHT LIFT. All done through the programs accessible from my phone that I set each girl up with in my bootcamp. I add in my own cardio from my All Access Pass as well but only bc I've always loved a good cardio sweat! Fact is... anyone can coach; all is required of you is HARD WORK + lead by example in your own journey (aka best accountability out there!) We have dance programs, yoga programs, cardio only, HIIT with weights, and strictly body building weight lifting... and every few months a new program comes out. The bench mark has been set after a heavy chest session with @chevyc_ πŸ€›πŸ» 110kg Bench Press has been officially hit again πŸ’― 
Rep wasn't entirely clean but , Two months ago a dislocation to my shoulder hindered all strength work and had to be put on hold for summer whilst it recovered! It's now time to grow through the combination of heavy strength and hypertrophy trainingβœ”οΈ time to eat more and grow to maximise my PB's onwards and upwards from here ⬆️ I want 120kg within the next 8 weeks and I'm determined more than ever!

The Progress through a Six months to a years transformation of training 5-6 days a week and dieting with good nutritional value πŸ’― everyone starts somewhere, no one magically gains muscle or loses weight, it comes from sheer hard work and dedication to your body, mind and soul!

The best way to utilize pause work is to rework your technique, speed and bar path to not only get stronger, but to do so safely. β€’
Even though I'm doing paused reps, I still like to use the stretch reflex at the bottom. It gives me a nice stretch and really works the pec and doesn't force all the effort on the Triceps.
