Zahaan donated his hair to an organization for sick kids exactly a month before he was diagnosed with cancer. Now, at just 7 years old, Zahaan continues to exhibit a heart for others and maturity beyond his years. “Whatever happens, something good will come out of this,” Zahaan’s dad says. “I believe Zahaan has a bigger purpose.”

Whenever Bella returns to St. Jude for checkup appointments, she and her dad, Alex, always perform their "secret" handshake. "We always did it before her soccer games, but now we do it before every set of scans," Alex said. Bella completed treatment for retinoblastoma in 2014 and now enjoys scoring goals on the soccer field!

Corbin, a two-time St. Jude patient, was treated for soft tissue cancer when he was 3 years old. Now 15, he is back for a second, unrelated type of cancer: bone cancer. Recently Corbin said, “Being bitter or resentful is something that’s easy to do, but that wouldn’t be a very good example for other people going through this. There needs to be somebody to show them that it’s gonna get better.” This teenager’s favorite form of self-expression is music, and thanks to a limb-sparing surgery to remove the tumor in his right arm, he is slowly getting back to playing guitar.

Jordyn is a gymnast with Olympic dreams. She’s earned more than 90 medals and has been a state champion four times. But in 2014, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Thanks to treatments at St. Jude, Jordyn is done with treatment and back at the gym.

This summer, Owen and his family celebrated a huge milestone – his five year after-finishing-treatment anniversary. “This means so much to us,” says Owen’s mom, Kelly. “We’re so thankful for St. Jude.” Owen, who will be in sixth grade this fall, has spent his summer swimming with his siblings and going to basketball camp.

On her sixth birthday, Paislee’s family learned she had blood cancer. On the day of what should've been her long-awaited party, she was at St. Jude receiving chemotherapy treatments. Paislee was worried she’d have to spend her seventh birthday at the hospital too, but her care team made sure that wouldn’t happen.
