#ardhabhekasana or "half-frog pose" is one of my favorites for sure.  You can do this pose on the elbow as well.  Press down on the bent-leg-foot and kick the foot back into the hand.  Inner things hug in gently, chest up, shoulder-blades down and in.

This pose used to be my most dreaded pose. It hurt so bad, I couldn't do it very well.  The word "hate" comes to mind, but alas, hamstrings seem to be one of the easier and more pliable muscles of the body. They will stretch!  Hooray!

One of my most challenging poses and it has taken me long time just to get to this point.  I love the look of this pose and it's a desire of mine to get better, but it will continue to be a slow process.  #slowandsteadywinstherace

TWO SLIDES for DAY 7 of #yogabumsandtums is #sideplank 
NOTICE the feet right away. They look like feet you would stand on for #tadasana and same with the single bottom leg for #vasisthasana (2nd slide) which helps create power to lift the ankle, but no"over-lifting," which is the tendency.  I used to think flat bottom foot, but you can't make the leg as straight and strong, and it's easier if foot is flat.  This is incorrect.  Bottom hand located just a little in front of shoulder as the shoulder externally rotates to bring the chest forward. **KEY**pull front lower ribs in to help solidify a tight core.  Keep top hip directly on top of bottom hip in first slide and in second slide slightly open pulling top hip toward bottom foot.  This is an advanced pose. Much practice is necessary.

This is definitely core because you have to hold up your middle. The second slide shows you what not to do. HERE's what TO DO:  press hands forward and heels back. That will help lift everything. Thighs up to ceiling, tailbone down, lower sternum lift into beelly, which takes the pubic bone forward. Now, pull shoulder blades back. Hold for a while to build strength.
