Keep trying! different cooking methods, food combinations, presentation, even the color of the spoon might be all it takes for them to accept a new vegetable. Don't you hate it when you buy berries and a few days later... MOLD! I have a trick though that can help make your berries last twice as long.✨Wash them in apple cider vinegar...

Fill a large bowl with water and add a few splashes of ACV (about a 9:1 water:ACV ratio). Add your berries 🍓 and stir them around with your hands a bit then let them sit for a few minutes. Drain and rinse as usual and leave them out on the counter to dry.
.
The ACV kills any bacteria on the berries that can make them spoil early. I always do this with berries because I can tell that big of a difference in how long they last. But you can use this ACV wash to extend the shelf life of all your fruits and veggies 🍅🍇🍋🍆🍏. Give it a try and see if you can tell a difference!

What a week back, first a fist pump to start off my morning workout and then a lift and twirl by @slaw823 ! Spent the morning @fhittingroom UWS getting in some heavy weight work, racing through todays humpday #fhix (four rounds of four exercises, minimal down time) and knocking out two 3 minute AMRAP ladders. This nutrient dense pumpkin "risotto" has been soooo perfect for these past few dreary days. It's feels so rich and hearty but doesn't leave you with a gross full feeling. .
Of course my "risotto" is cauliflower rice. Nothing against regular rice (except all the useless carbs :)) but once you get the hang of cooking with cauliflower rice it'll be a no brainer to use it since it is so full of amazing vitamins and antioxidants and a vital nutrient in helping to detox your body naturally. This was so easy to make and took about a half hour. It makes a great meal on its own or a great side dish with a nice piece of steak or roasted chicken. .

I put one head pulsed cauliflower in a pan with about 3tbs of @fourthandheart Ghee then added a 6oz container of a medley of gourmet mushrooms (shiitake, mistake, ceremonial, oyster) gave it a good salting (so key for adding flavor to cauliflower rice)  and just cooked that for a bit. .

In a seperate saucepan I added 1/2 cup pumpkin purée, 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1 cup chicken broth, 3 tbs maple syrup and a little cinnamon sprinkle. Let it all simmer for a bit then poured it all over my cauliflower rice and really let it all blend. I did happen to have some leftover bacon from breakfast so I crumbled it on top along with some fresh thyme. (Sooo effin good! ) .
This whole combo gives you that harmonious blend of sweet and salty. .

HEALTHY FAT TYPES 🥑

Fats are an essential part of nutrition and contribute greatly to good health. But just like with any food group, not all types are created equal.

Generally you'll do well if you stick to mostly polyunsaturated fats (things like fish, flaxseeds & walnuts would fall under this category) and also monounsaturated fats (think avocado, almonds, olive oil etc)

These types of foods should generally make up the bulk of your fat intake. But then comes saturated fat, a hotly debated topic that id prefer not to stir up. So I'll just politely let you know which foods contain them, and do with it what you will 🤓

Foods like butter, dairy products, fatty cuts of beef, bacon & pretty much all fast food contain saturated fat. All the tasty business really. I personally include saturated fat into my diet whenever I feel like it.

And last on the list we have trans fats, I didn't even bother including these in the graphic because they kinda suck. But like with saturated fats (and any food) they can probably be included in any diet and consumed in  moderation for most people. Whatever you're into really ✌️

"What should I eat after a workout?" . 
Well, that depends on a few things. How hard was your workout? Is it time for your next meal? Do you have access to your kitchen? It can always look different. However, it is important to have something to eat within 2 hours of exercising, whether it's a meal or a snack! (Within 30 min of the workout was very intense). This is an important part of re-fueling and re-building your body. You need carbs and fat to refuel, protein to rebuild, and vitamins / minerals have countless roles in recovery! The trick is making sure you're eating / drinking real foods :)

Today, I did 45 minutes of Zumba! It is 10am, right in between meals so I don't need a full plate. Today I made a simple smoothie with: 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, small handful berries, 1/2 banana, and a handful of spinach. I also threw in my powdered multivitamin because I forgot to take it earlier. It's not too much food, but is a very nutrient rich and hits all of the checkpoints for a post workout snack! "What should I eat after a workout?" .
Well, that depends on a few things. How hard was your workout? Is it time for your next meal? Do you have access to your kitchen? It can always look different. However, it is important to have something to eat within 2 hours of exercising, whether it's a meal or a snack! (Within 30 min of the workout was very intense). This is an important part of re-fueling and re-building your body. You need carbs and fat to refuel, protein to rebuild, and vitamins / minerals have countless roles in recovery! The trick is making sure you're eating / drinking real foods :)

Today, I did 45 minutes of Zumba! It is 10am, right in between meals so I don't need a full plate. Today I made a simple smoothie with: 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, small handful berries, 1/2 banana, and a handful of spinach. I also threw in my powdered multivitamin because I forgot to take it earlier. It's not too much food, but is a very nutrient rich and hits all of the checkpoints for a post workout snack! I always found it difficult to come up with healthy filling breakfasts that were easy to prep before rushing out the door in the morning. But that won't be a problem any more! I heard a lot of hype about chia seed pudding, but figured I wouldn't like it because of the texture. Boiiii was I wrong! This stuff is delicious!! •

Here's my recipe for Cinnamon Apple Chia Seed Pudding:
1 cup Almond Milk
2 Tbsp Agave Nectar
1/2 tsp cinnamon 
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 Tbsp chia seeds
Half an apple, chopped

Mix everything (except chia seeds + apple).
Then add chia seeds, and refrigerate over night.
Top with chopped apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Enjoy!!
