What we eat is directly related to our state of health. If you don't know this its time you dug a little deeper. There is far too much info, resources, studies showing us that what we eat and what we actually absorb are going to have a huge role in how healthy we are. Food is one of the easiest, and chespest tools we have in our tool 🛠box for optimal health. If you don't know where to start just eat real foods. It's that simple. We don't have to eat perfectly or live perfect lives. If we just start to become more aware of our bodies and how foods we eat are affecting us we will be way ahead of the curve! Today is part two of having shoulder pain caused by the bench press, I did part one last week, so go check that one out as well!

♠️Shoulder pain that is caused by the Bench Press is something I'm sure some people have encountered at one point or another. It is a very common thing and there are various things to do to get rid of this problem.
__
1️⃣ Tuck your elbows - if you notice that your arms create a 90 degree angle with your torso, your elbows are probably flared out to far. Being that most people flare out there elbows when benching, something as simple as tucking your elbows to 45 degrees can save the front part of your shoulders tremendously.
__
2️⃣ Close Grip Bench Press - if you typically have a wider grip(outside shoulder width) and are experiencing discomfort try bringing your hands in. Now, when I say close grip that doesn't mean have your hands stacked right next to each other. Start with shoulder width apart and slowly move in from there depending on how it feels. This will take stress of the shoulders and put them on your triceps and pecs.

3️⃣ DB Bench Press - now don't do these with your elbows flared out. Keep the elbows tucked. If you're still bothered by that turn your palms in and do a neutral grip press.
__
♦️So, for those who have been experiencing shoulder pain from the bench press be sure to switch things up. If something is causing pain there's no sense in continuing to do the same thing over and over. Make the necessary changes and the gainz will keep on comin!

Strength and conditioning isn't about the next best thing. It about a well balanced program that is consistent and adaptable to the athlete. If your EGO is in the way then you will soon find out how quick the athlete may loose trust in your process. Making sure the foundational movements are technically sound is a great way to ensure a good program before implementing any crazy "new" exercise. 
Create a good environment, build trust and have empathy. To be those are the 3 biggest component to coaching an athlete of any age, any skill level. Trust is paramount. 
Our in season training is in week 2 and already the guys and girls committed have bought into the process. I ask questions before and after each session about how they feel, soreness ect.. stay involved!

Fancy changing some things up in the gym? This is 12 weeks work, 3 months, 90 days, whatever you wanna call it, it's not a long time. I went from a casual lifter, 4 times a week at most, the only attention I paid to food was 'I need lots of protein for gainz'. After tightening it up, using more efficient work outs (not just 3 sets of ten) and paying attention to what went in to the engine, this was the result. It's not easy, don't kid yourself, but it's possible if you want it.
